Free Donation Pickups for Jigsaw Puzzles, Children’s Puzzles and More
DonateYourStuff.ca provides free scheduled donation pickup for qualifying puzzles across the GTA and select surrounding communities. We accept adult jigsaw puzzles, children’s puzzles, wooden puzzles, floor puzzles, educational puzzles, 3D puzzles and vintage puzzle sets.
Puzzles should be clean, complete and organized, with all pieces kept with the correct box, frame, tray or set. Instructions, stands, bases and other parts needed to complete or use a puzzle should remain with it.
Submit a pickup request with your location, the approximate number of puzzles, boxes or storage containers and a general description of what you have. We will review your request and contact you by email about pickup availability.
Puzzle Donations We Accept
Puzzle donations can include traditional boxed jigsaw puzzles, children’s learning puzzles, wooden tray puzzles, large floor puzzles and more detailed 3D or mechanical sets. Some only need their pieces and box kept together, while others may also include a frame, tray, stand, base or instructions.

Why Condition Matters
Puzzles can only continue to be used when all essential pieces are present and the image can be completed.
Open each puzzle box before donation and check that the pieces belong to the correct puzzle. Pieces should be clean, dry and free from major bending, tearing, staining or water damage.
Puzzle boxes should remain strong enough to protect the contents. Weakened boxes may be taped or placed inside sealed bags or stronger outer containers.
We reserve the right to decline puzzles at pickup if they are incomplete, unusable, contaminated, heavily damaged or improperly packed.

Children’s puzzles should be clean, complete and safe to handle.
Pieces should not be cracked, heavily chewed, badly marked, torn or damaged. Any reference cards, answer guides or learning materials required to use the puzzle should remain with the set.

Wooden puzzle pieces should be smooth, clean and free from cracks, splinters, sharp edges or major water damage.

Older puzzles should be clean, dry, complete and suitable for continued use.
Some wear to an older puzzle box may be acceptable when the pieces remain protected. Secure weakened boxes before packing.
Do not donate vintage puzzles affected by mould, pests, strong odours, heavy moisture damage or contamination.
Puzzle Donations We Cannot Accept
We cannot accept puzzles that are incomplete, unusable, contaminated, heavily damaged or improperly prepared.
Please do not donate:
- Puzzles with missing pieces
- Puzzles known to be incomplete
- Loose pieces with no identified puzzle
- Empty puzzle boxes
- Boxes containing pieces from several unrelated puzzles
- Puzzles with heavily torn pieces
- Puzzles with badly bent pieces
- Pieces affected by moisture
- Wet or damp puzzles
- Puzzles with mould or mildew
- Puzzles with extensive water damage
- Puzzles affected by strong smoke or pet odours
- Puzzles exposed to pests
- Puzzles with food residue
- Puzzles with sticky surfaces
- Puzzles with heavy staining
- Crushed or unusable puzzle boxes
- Wooden puzzles with splinters
- Wooden pieces with sharp edges

Items that do not meet our donation standards may be declined at pickup.
How Many Puzzles Are Needed for Pickup?
Our pickup service is intended for puzzle donations large enough to reasonably justify sending a vehicle to your location.
One or two small puzzles will usually not qualify for pickup on their own.
A donation is more likely to qualify when it includes several boxes of complete puzzles, a larger family puzzle collection, classroom puzzles, surplus puzzle inventory or puzzles combined with other accepted household donations.
Larger collections from families, schools, libraries, retailers, businesses, moving projects, downsizing or estate cleanouts may also qualify.
You do not need to count every individual puzzle piece. Provide your best estimate of the number of complete puzzles, boxes or storage containers.
The overall donation volume, condition, location and current pickup routes will determine whether pickup is available.
How to Prepare Puzzles for Donation Pickup
Please prepare all puzzles before your scheduled pickup.
Check each puzzle: Open every box and confirm that the pieces belong to the correct puzzle.
Confirm completeness: Remove puzzles known to have missing pieces. A puzzle should include everything required to complete the image or model.
Bag the pieces: Place the pieces from each puzzle inside a separate sealed bag before returning them to the box.
Keep puzzles separate: Do not combine loose pieces from several unrelated puzzles in one bag or container.
Match pieces to boxes: Make sure each bag of pieces is returned to the correct puzzle box.
Protect reference images: Keep the original box image, instructions or another reference image with the puzzle.
Inspect cardboard pieces: Remove puzzles with heavily torn, bent, stained, sticky or water-damaged pieces.
Inspect wooden pieces: Remove pieces with cracks, splinters, sharp edges or major surface damage.
Keep everything dry: Make sure all puzzle pieces, boxes, frames and instructions are completely dry before packing.
Clean suitable surfaces: Wipe wooden pieces, puzzle boards and sturdy surfaces so they are free from dirt and residue. Do not soak cardboard pieces.
Secure the box: Use an elastic band, removable tape, a sealed bag or another suitable method to prevent the puzzle box from opening.
Label puzzles without boxes: Place all pieces inside one secure container and clearly label it with the puzzle name, image or description and piece count.
Include instructions: Keep assembly guides, reference sheets, stands and bases with 3D or specialty puzzles.
Pack puzzles flat or upright: Arrange puzzle boxes so they will not be crushed or open during transportation.
Use manageable containers: Pack puzzles inside strong boxes or storage bins that can be lifted safely. Use several smaller containers instead of one extremely heavy box.
Label every container: Use a clear label such as Puzzle Donations.
Protect the donation from weather: Store packed puzzles indoors, in a dry garage or in another protected location until pickup.
Separate unusable puzzles: Do not mix incomplete, contaminated or heavily damaged puzzles with those ready for continued use.

How Puzzle Donation Pickup Works
Step 1: Submit your pickup request: Complete the online form and provide your location, approximate number of puzzles, boxes or storage containers. Describe the main types of puzzles included and mention any additional accepted donation categories.
Step 2: We review your donation: We review your location, estimated donation volume, puzzle types, overall condition, how everything is packed, available vehicle space and current route availability. We may request photos or additional information by email.
Step 3: Receive email confirmation: Your pickup is only scheduled after you receive confirmation by email. Preferred dates and times submitted through the form are requests and are not automatically secured.
Step 4: Prepare and stage your puzzles: Check completeness, secure loose pieces and pack all approved puzzles in strong, manageable boxes or storage containers.
Step 5: We collect the approved puzzles: Once your pickup is confirmed, our team collects the approved puzzle donations. Puzzles that are incomplete, contaminated, heavily damaged, improperly packed or significantly different from what was described may be declined.

We will review your request and contact you by email regarding availability.
Once approved, check the puzzles for missing pieces, place loose pieces in sealed bags, secure the boxes and prepare the donation for collection. We handle the pickup so you do not have to transport the entire puzzle collection to a donation centre.
