Free Donation Pickups for Christmas Decorations & Décor
DonateYourStuff.ca provides free scheduled donation pickup for qualifying Christmas decorations and décor across the GTA and select surrounding communities. We accept artificial trees that are not pre-lit, ornaments, wreaths, garlands, Christmas villages, figurines, tabletop décor and working lighted decorations.
Christmas décor should be clean, complete and safe to use. Artificial trees must include their main sections and stand, while lighted and animated decorations should work properly and include the cords, adapters, battery covers or other parts needed to use them.
Submit a pickup request with your location, the approximate number of artificial trees, boxes, bags and storage containers, along with a general description of what you have. We will review your request and contact you by email about pickup availability.

Christmas Decorations & Décor Donations We Accept
Christmas donations can include tree decorations, artificial greenery, villages, figurines, tabletop pieces, lighted decorations, linens, serving items and storage products. Some items are simple, while trees, village sets and powered decorations may include stands, cords, adapters, remotes or matching pieces that need to stay together.
The sections below explain the types of Christmas decorations and décor we accept and the important details to check for each one before including them in your pickup request.
Why Condition Matters
Christmas decorations are often stored for most of the year and reused season after season, so they need to remain in a condition where they can realistically continue to be used.
When decorations are broken, incomplete or no longer functional, they create extra sorting and disposal work instead of becoming useful donations. Fragile pieces and multi-piece sets are especially difficult to reuse when important parts are missing or damaged.
Checking your Christmas decorations before donating helps make sure more of what we collect can stay in circulation for future holiday seasons instead of being discarded.

How Much Christmas Décor is Needed for a Pickup?
Our pickup service is intended for donations large enough to reasonably justify sending a vehicle to your location.
One ornament, one wreath or one small tabletop decoration will usually not qualify for pickup on its own.
A donation is more likely to qualify when it includes several boxes or storage containers of decorations, an artificial tree with additional décor, multiple wreaths or a combination of ornaments, figurines, villages, lighted decorations and serving pieces.
A smaller Christmas donation may also qualify when combined with other accepted household donation categories.
You do not need to count every ornament or figurine. Provide your best estimate of the number of artificial trees, wreaths, boxes, bags and storage containers included.
The overall donation volume, condition, location and current pickup routes will determine whether pickup is available.
How to Prepare Christmas Decorations for a Donation Pickup
Please prepare all Christmas decorations before your scheduled pickup.
Remove loose Christmas lights: Loose Christmas light strings are not accepted. Built-in or attached lights can remain on qualifying working decorations.
Keep artificial trees complete: Pack the stand and every main tree section together. Pre-lit artificial trees cannot be included.
Sort by item type: Separate ornaments, wreaths, villages, figurines, lighted décor, linens, serving pieces and other decorations.
Test lighted decorations: Make sure lighted, musical and animated decorations work before packing them.
Keep electrical parts together: Pack adapters, remotes, controllers and battery covers with the decorations they belong to.
Pack ornaments carefully: Use divided ornament boxes or wrap fragile ornaments individually.
Secure ornament hooks: Place hooks and other small sharp pieces inside a closed container.
Protect wreaths and garlands: Use containers that prevent them from being crushed.
Keep sets together: Pack villages, nativity sets and matching figurines inside clearly labelled containers.
Wrap fragile pieces: Protect glass, ceramic and other breakable decorations before boxing them.
Wash fabric items: Tablecloths, runners, stockings and fabric decorations should be clean and dry.
Keep display pieces complete: Pack cake stands, serving pieces and centrepieces with their matching posts, trays and connectors.
Remove food and liquids: Do not include candy, beverages, open food or used disposable supplies.
Remove personal items: Check stockings, advent calendars, storage boxes and decoration containers for money, photographs, gift cards and paperwork.
Use manageable containers: Divide the donation into strong boxes, bins and bags that one person can carry safely.
Label every container: Use labels such as Artificial Tree, Ornaments, Wreaths, Christmas Village, Nativity Set, Lighted Décor, Tabletop Décor or Fragile Decorations.
Protect everything from weather: Keep prepared Christmas donations indoors or inside a dry garage until pickup.
For complete instructions, review our how to prepare your donations page before pickup.
