Free Donation Pickups for TVs, Laptops, Stereos, and Other Electronics
DonateYourStuff.ca provides free scheduled donation pickup for qualifying electronics across the GTA and select surrounding communities. We accept flat-screen TVs, computers, laptops, monitors, tablets, mobile phones, media players, stereos, speakers and related accessories.
Electronics should be clean, working and ready to use. Keep each device with the cords, chargers, remotes, stands and other parts needed to operate it, and remove any personal information or connected accounts before pickup.
Submit a pickup request with your location, the approximate number of devices or boxes and a general description of what you have. Include the screen size of any televisions and photos of larger electronics whenever possible. We will review your request and contact you by email about pickup availability.
Electronic Donations We Accept
Electronics range from simple devices to complete computer, television and audio setups. Some items work on their own, while others need matching cords, chargers, remotes, stands or accessories to remain usable.
The sections below explain the types of electronics we accept and the important details to check for each one before adding it to your pickup request.
Why Condition Matters
Electronics need to be working and usable because broken devices cannot continue to serve the purpose they were designed for.
Non-working electronics, damaged batteries, exposed wiring and other serious problems can also create safety issues during pickup, sorting and handling. Devices that are unusable or only suitable for parts become electronic waste rather than a reusable donation.
Personal information and account locks matter for the same reason. A computer, tablet or phone cannot be properly prepared for continued use if it is still connected to the previous owner’s accounts or contains private information.
Checking your electronics before donating helps make sure more of what we collect can stay in circulation instead of becoming electronic waste.
We reserve the right to decline electronics at pickup if they are broken, unsafe, incomplete, heavily damaged, contaminated, account locked or otherwise unsuitable for reuse.
Flat-Screen TVs 70 Inches & Under

Televisions must turn on and display a clear, stable picture. Screens should be free from major cracks, large black areas, severe lines or extensive discolouration.
Include the television stand, legs, power cord and remote whenever available.

Desktop computers and laptops must turn on and operate properly.
Laptops should charge normally and have functional screens, keyboards, hinges and charging ports. Batteries must not be swollen, leaking or heavily damaged.
Computer monitors must display a clear and stable image. Include the monitor stand and power cord whenever available.
Remove all personal files, passwords, saved payment information, photographs, messages and account details before donation.

DVD and Blu-ray players must turn on and read discs properly.
Open the disc tray and remove any DVD, Blu-ray or other disc left inside before packing.
Include the remote, power cord and required connection cables whenever available.
Players with broken disc trays, damaged power cords or repeated playback problems cannot be accepted.

Small stereos and radios must turn on and produce clear sound.
CD trays, cassette mechanisms, radio controls, volume controls and other included functions should operate properly.
Speakers should produce clear sound without severe distortion. Wires, charging ports and power connections should remain safe and functional.
Keep detachable speakers, power cords, remotes and required connection cables with the correct system.
Large floor-standing speakers, oversized stereo cabinets and other large audio equipment must be reviewed separately using photos and dimensions.

Items that do not meet our donation standards may be declined at pickup.
How Many Electronics Are Needed for Pickup?
Our pickup service is intended for donations that reasonably justify sending a vehicle to your location.
One small electronic item will usually not be enough on its own. Several electronics or a mixed donation containing electronics and other accepted items is more likely to qualify.
When completing the pickup form, provide your best estimate of:
- The approximate number of electronics
- The number and size of flat-screen televisions
- The number of desktop computers, laptops and monitors
- The number of tablets, e-readers and mobile phones
- The number of gaming consoles, controllers and video games
- The number of DVD and Blu-ray players
- The number of stereos, radios and speakers
- Whether the required cables, chargers, remotes and accessories are included
- Whether the donation includes other accepted items
An exact count of every cable or small accessory is not required.
How to Prepare Electronics for Donation Pickup
Please test, organize and prepare all electronics before your scheduled pickup.
Test every device: Connect each television, computer, monitor, media player, stereo, radio and speaker to power. Confirm that it turns on and performs its main functions.
Check every screen: Inspect televisions, monitors, laptops, tablets, e-readers and phones for cracks, lines, large black areas or severe display damage.
Remove unusable devices: Separate electronics that are broken, unsafe, liquid damaged or heavily worn.
Remove personal accounts: Sign out of all Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Kobo, Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox and other connected accounts.
Remove personal information: Delete files, photographs, messages, browsing history, passwords, payment information and other private data.
Disable device tracking: Turn off Find My iPhone, Find My Device and other account-based tracking or locking services.
Complete factory resets: Reset computers, laptops, tablets, e-readers, mobile phones and gaming systems when appropriate.
Remove personal storage: Remove SIM cards, memory cards, USB drives and other storage containing personal information.
Remove discs: Check computers, gaming consoles, DVD players and Blu-ray players for discs before packing.
Match cords to devices: Keep each electronic device with its correct power cord, charger, power adapter and required connection cables.
Include remotes: Keep television, media-player and stereo remotes with the correct device.
Label accessories: Place cords, chargers, adapters, receivers and remotes inside clearly labelled bags.
Protect screens: Wrap televisions, monitors, laptops, tablets, e-readers and phones so their screens cannot be scratched or struck.
Protect controls and ports: Do not place heavy items directly against buttons, ports, disc trays or control panels.
Secure television stands: Keep television legs, stands and required hardware together and label them clearly.
Remove unsafe batteries: Do not pack swollen, leaking, corroded or otherwise damaged batteries.
Use strong containers: Pack smaller electronics inside sturdy boxes or storage bins with protective padding.
Keep televisions and monitors upright: Position screens carefully so they remain stable and protected.
Do not overpack: Use several manageable boxes instead of one extremely heavy container.
Label every box: Use clear labels such as Computer Accessories, Tablets and Phones, Media Players, Audio Equipment or Electronic Cables.
Keep everything dry: Store packed electronics indoors, in a dry garage or in another protected location until pickup.
Separate unapproved electronics: Do not mix broken devices, electronic waste or unidentified components with approved donations.

How Electronics Pickup Works
Step 1: Submit your pickup request: Complete the online form and provide your location and an approximate count of televisions, computers, laptops, monitors, tablets, phones, media players, audio equipment and boxes of accessories. Include the size of every television and mention other accepted donations included.
Step 2: We review your donation: We review your location, estimated donation volume, electronic item types, condition, included accessories, how everything is packed, available vehicle space and current route availability. We may request photos or additional information by email.
Step 3: Receive email confirmation: Your pickup is only scheduled after you receive confirmation by email. Preferred dates and times submitted through the form are requests and are not automatically secured.
Step 4: Prepare and stage the electronics: Test, clean, reset and securely pack the approved electronics. Keep each device with its required cords, chargers, remotes and accessories.
Step 5: We collect the approved donation: Once your pickup is confirmed, our team collects the approved electronics. Devices that do not work, contain personal information, remain account locked, are heavily damaged, are improperly packed or are significantly different from what was described may be declined.
